  Most bad cc can be found and removed if you're able to spend enough time on it. Others require a fresh Sims 3 folder and reinstall of all Store Content. This is because occasionally you get something bad that infects everything in your Sims 3 folder.
  Don't uninstall your game though.

• I'm having the same issue, I looked on the thread but it didn't look like anything would help. Any other suggestions?
• I've had this happen before & it's usually when the horse I've added to my game has some CC on it that I already have but in another format. (Eg. I have a package file blanket in my Mods folder already in my game, then the horse that I add is wearing the same blanket but in Sims 3 pack format), so I end up with 2 of the same blankets which will conflict & make the horse look like it's completely covered.
  When you install a horse from The Exchange, look to see what other CC has been installed along with it, if you notice something that you know you already have in your Mods folder then uninstall the CC via the Launcher. (Every item including the horse, will have a package file created in your DCBackup folder when you install the Sims 3 pack, this should give you an idea of how many items of CC came with it).
  Other things you could try are changing all the horse's tack & mane/tail to EA stuff, save the horse, then go & uninstall it's Sims 3 pack (& all CC that came with it) via the Launcher.
  Hope this may help somewhat.

• I have this problem too, but for me its easily solved
  If you look at google, type in 'sims 3 invisible saddle.' there's a custom piece of tack you can download for an invisible bridle and saddle, so it can look like your sim is riding bareback but technically the horse is wearing the tack. If you select that invisible saddle, or swap every piece of tack and accessories on the current horse, the blanket should disappear
• I've given up. I have tried all suggestions and will have my techy daughter try the above suggestions on my game too. This even appears in CAS when you go to the part where you can change the coat color, all the horses in the boxes that are not regular sims are wearing the blanket so you can't see the color. I can't upload any horses I've made to the exchange for fear someone else will get this 'virus'. Thank you all for posting ideas to help. I will do it all again and try to see if I can get rid of it. I'm trying to load a pic onto my studio, then the media page. Thanks again to all who have posted.
  
• hello this maybe a bit late but. I maybe of found a way to fix this (Horse Blanket) problem.
  I opened my sims 3 launcher, then went into (installed items) choosing the first tab with infinity symbol
  then I scrolled down til I found all the horse blankets and selected them to be uninstalled
  then I when back on my game and the blankets and the bug was gone.
  that all I needed to do to get rid of this blanket bug

• Thank you, I will try that again as I tried it before but my launcher quit working, just love that launcher! I have pics of what it looks like in my studio 'equitydanes' on the media page, just click the tab, it won't let me paste a link as it states I haven't been around here long enough, cute EA or whomever, really cute. the Thank you to everybody who has offered great help and suggestions, I greatly appreciate it.
• After thinking I found it on the installed content, as I was going to delete, the launcher quit working, what a pisser.
• if you manage to uninstall the blankets. they might still show up in horse accessories, they will be on the horse and look like saddle pads or jumping straps, but in the selections they well look like the bugged blankets. if they do still show up in horse accessories just unclick them and choose saddle pads and jumping straps that look normal
  this has happened to me and even though the blanket are still in my game I have just chosen other accessories and the bug hasn't happened again. so I hope you can get this to work on yours and you can see your beautiful horses properly
• FINALLY!!! I got rid of it. Did what SimsandWow suggested, with patience this time, the infinity or all content tab, then just looked for CAS parts on the side. It did work, I finally found two blankets in the installed content, deleted them and now I can finally see my horses as they should be. My daughter said it was added like a trojan. I wish people would not do that. If they are going to add such a blanket, please let people know before they download. It had taken over all my horses, even when I went into coat colors in CAS. I won't be downloading any horses except from well known creators.

• This just started happening to my horses! I'm going to try all the above. I am so glad someone else had this issue and it wasn't just me.
• I've got it again and I downloaded two horses from the exchange so I know who it was that added it on, or it could be I found that phantom saddle from installed content and deleted it and it brought back the darn blanket. Either way, it's annoying, you cannot edit the horse in CAS, not even game generated horses as the blanket appears in CAS so you cannot see the body. In game play when the horse is unsaddled the blanket is automatically put on so you cannot see your horses coat color. I love the color on my horses and don't want to look at a stupid blanket. Right now I feel like dumping the game from the computer and reinstalling it. There goes all my mods but what the heck, the stupid horse blanket will be gone. I went through the installed content on the launcher and did not see the blankets there at all like last time, but still showing up in the game. So please, if one makes a horse to share, please do not add a blanket or state that you have done so, that way we know.

• Now when I load up the launcher and open the installed content, nothing shows up. Nothing at all. Bummer.

  Do you have an idea which horses might be affected?
  would in game copying blanket-horse's coat and applying said coat on another horse like one of EA's defaults help/work? Or, are the default horses also affected?
• Most cc horse rugs are VERY buggy. I haven't found a single rug yet that doesn't mess my game up somehow. However I don't have seasons so I just pretend the world is hot and sunny and no rugs needed!
• Also another question, as I haven't tested it, if you make a shetland using custom sliders etc, and you put a cc rug on it, what happens? Does the rug shrink and fit the pony or does it stay horse sized and float above it?
• I have found the suspect horses to be dressage horses and race horses that I downloaded. No matter what, I cannot get that stupid blanket out of my game now. When looking at it in the game when I get into CAS in the saddle section, it looks like it came with the game where you have that little 'present' square to identify it as bought, but know it didn't. As in a prior post from SimsandWow about deleting the blanket in the installed content on the launcher, it did work, but the invisible saddle was in its place, no biggie, until I deleted the invisible saddle, then the blanket was back. Downloaded the invisible saddle again with hopes it would reverse itself, no such luck darn it. When in game play I have to have my sim 'lead' horse so the horse changes into a halter and then go have my sim do something else really quick so the horse stays in halter. I have gone back in the launcher again and looked for it or any blanket, can't find it nor can I find any type of tack other than halters. Easy if you just look for CAS in the 'type' column of installed content. FYI, when this bug hits, and you go into CAS and look at coat colors for your horses, any coat color that did not come with the game, the horse displaying the coat color will have that blanket on it, in CAS no less. Honestly I feel like deleting the game, first saving unaffected Sims, and starting all over. I have also deleted the DC Backup files (which is okay to do, just do not delete the DC Cache files, when I did that I lost a lot of content and had to revert my computer files back) after I found another blanket in my launcher in hopes it would go away, no, no it didn't . Don't know why it bothers me so much, I guess I just like to look at the color on my horses.
  As far as being on a Shetland Pony, I don't know, it might. Thank you to everyone who has posted with tips and tricks and help. I do appreciate it.
